It’s finally here, the series that everybody has been waiting for. The Miami Heat proved to be worthy of yet another finals appearance when they won the final two games of the Boston Celtics series. Unfortunately for them they are going up against a hot Oklahoma City Thunder team which looks poised to prove their dominance amongst the leagues best. This series should be entertaining as Lebron James and Kevin Durant are undoubtably the top 2 players in the NBA.
The two teams have split the last 10 games they’ve faced straight up and OKC won the two appearances this season against Miami. The Thunder have not lost at home these playoffs having won each contest by an average of 10 points, part of that is due to the NBA’s liveliest crowd. Miami has three solid scorers they can turn to at any point with Chris Bosh being back but we anticipate that the interior defence of the Thunder lead by Kendrick Perkins and Serge Ibaka (aka I’ll-block-ya) will cause difficulty for the Heat players scoring at will in the paint. The main advantage the Thunder have is a sever mismatch at the PG position, look for Lebron James to guard Russell Westbrook at key moments in the game. We see James Harden having a breakout series as no one on the Miami Heat second unit is capable of defending him. Game 1 prediction: Thunder win by 6.
